oil leak at back of motor near starter?
Had a couple oil leaks over the last few months, got one of them figured out (stupid drain plug) but the other one I think may be a little bigger issue. Most of the oil seems to be leaking from near the starter, and running down to the little black plate that I'm guessing is access to the torque converter? I don't see any wet spots above the oil pan. Am I looking at the oil pan gasket or maybe a rear main? There's some moisture at the bottom of the valley, but I don't see anywhere where its ran down the block to the bottom so I don't think its the HPOP or anything up top, but couldn't say for sure.
Any suggestions or ideas?

climb up on top, look under the turbo on the passenger side. Use a good flashlight and a small inspection mirror. highly likely your EBPV piston is leaking out of the turbo pedestal, or one of the turbo orings is leaking
(read your liist of mods in your sig, guessing you've had the turbo off to put in the wicked wheel, but didn't delete the EBPV) 2 other places it could also come from- back of each head is a large plug with a 1/2" sq drive, they are your oil galley plugs. they have orings on them that can leak. also, check up on top, center of each head right next to the valve covers. there are pipe plugs on the oil galleys there, too. I had a leak after I put on a high pressure crossover line, took a while to realize it was from one of the fittings, it ran down the edge of the gasket and was hard to see. |

Had the same though when I first saw drips coming from that inspection plate. Definitely check the valley above. Mine was leaking from the HPOP, a small leak that eventually filled up the valley and leaked down the back to that same spot.

Dug around some more and it is indeed the forward most HPOP line. I ordered up the new o-rings and got a couple of them replaced but can't get that damn line off using the quick disco fitting. So I'm going to try a stubby 19mm wrench in there, see if I can just take the fitting off with the hose still attached.
In the process of all this though I managed to bust the electrical connector off the ICP sensor, so I need to get one of those ordered. There was some oil in the hole that the sensor was in, and I keep seeing that oil there is bad, but can't really find out why. Anybody know what that could indicate?
