For the record, I am an idiot! I was crawling around my truck yesterday to prepare to install a by-pass oil filter system. I decided to look, once more, at what might be causing this thunking. I found that the bolt holding the upper sway bar link to the frame was loose. There were no wear marks on the frame before, but there was now. The problem is, the hole in the frame seems to be too large for the factory nut. I threw a grade 8 washer under the nut and tightened it down good. thunk is gone. Frustrating that I replaced the ball joints, but they needed replaced anyway, so I guess all this happens for a reason.

Anyone in the area have about 6" of 2x4x1/8" rectangle tubing? I need some to mount my bypass filter on. I have some flexibility on size. Thanks!

J.D.
